Help Us Validate Gumbi Gumbi – An Ancient Healing Plant with Modern Potential
We are Yarbun Creations, a 100% Aboriginal-owned family business based in Central Queensland, walking the path of our ancestors — and now, sharing their healing wisdom with the world.
For generations, our Elders have used Gumbi Gumbi (Pittosporum angustifolium) to treat colds, infections, skin conditions, inflammation, and even cancer-related symptoms. It is a powerful plant known for its immune support and spiritual significance. In the Ghungalu language, Gumbi Gumbi means “woman” — representing nurture, strength, and healing.
Now, we are working with scientists at Central Queensland University to formally research its medicinal properties — and we need your help.

What Your Donation Supports
We are raising funds to cover the next stages of this important research, including:
- $200,000–$700,000 AUD for general health product registration (AUST L)
- $1M–$3M+ AUD for therapeutic registration (AUST R)
Your contribution will:
✔ Fund ethical research on Country
✔ Help protect Aboriginal intellectual property
✔ Support the safe development of culturally approved products
✔ Ensure the benefits of this knowledge are shared — and not stolen
We are not just validating a plant. We are protecting a legacy.
Why This Matters
Our early-phase testing has revealed:
- High antioxidant activity in the fruit and leaves
- Anti-cancer potential through cytotoxic effects on certain cell lines
- Promising results that validate what our people have known for centuries
But for this knowledge to be recognised by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), we must complete:
- Human clinical trials
- Product stability testing
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) formulation and safety assessments

Support Healing Through Culture and Science
Please help us take the next step toward recognition and respect for Aboriginal medicine. This research belongs to the community — and with your help, it can help many more.
Every donation, big or small, helps bring us closer to clinical trials — and closer to a future where Aboriginal healing knowledge is protected, proven, and powerful.
Thank you.
