Coolamons are a amazing and beatiful tool that was used like a basket, or to carry babies or as a cooking utensil by the our Aboriginal Ansectors. There are many different woods that the coolamons are made currently the ones we have in stock are made from Rosewood. There are two techniques that are used when making our coolamons we either burn or carve the inner layer depending on what is needed.
Our family walk country to select the perfect trees for our wooden arefacts. Then we hand craft each wooden arefacts every piece we make is unquie. We always love to see the way the grain runs through the wood. We also recommending oiling you wooden arefact every few months to ensure it stays in pristine condition (we use lineseed oil).
